Frequently asked questions

Is overseas shipping possible?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping costs and delivery times vary depending on your country/region and will be automatically displayed at checkout.
For purchases outside of Japan (in dollars or euros), shipping is included in the price. There are no additional shipping charges.

Taxes and Duties (Country Guide)

🇪🇺 To our customers in the EU (mainly France)
In the EU, even personal imports may be subject to a 20% value-added tax (TVA). This tax must be paid directly to the delivery company (e.g. La Poste) when you receive the product. *This may occur regardless of the amount.


🇺🇸 To our American customers

Until recently, personal imports to the United States valued under $800 were exempt from duties and taxes under the “de minimis” rule. However, as of August 29, 2025, this exemption has been eliminated for all countries. Therefore, when shipping KASHIKO products to the U.S., additional customs duties or taxes may now apply.

What writing instruments are compatible with it?

It is compatible with ballpoint pens, fountain pens, gel inks, mechanical pencils, and light watercolors. It has a smooth writing feel and is perfect for sketching and diary entries.

Does the notebook open flat?

Yes, it is made using the traditional Japanese technique of thread-stitching, and opens 180 degrees, making it easy to write without having to hold it down with one hand.

If it's sold out, will you restock it?

Yes. As these items are not completely limited, we do plan to restock some designs. However, we recommend that you place your order early as it may take some time to manufacture them.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes, you can use it as a gift. We do not have a gift box for the notebook, but we do have a gift set that includes a furoshiki wrapping cloth. This wrapping has been well received as a way to wrap the notebook in a traditional Japanese style.

Where is it made?

Each book is carefully made in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
