This is a 70cm-sized furoshiki. Fushimi dolls have been produced since the late Momoyama period and are now made in a single workshop in Fushimi, Kyoto. These charming dolls, featuring a wide variety of deities, monsters, Inari shrines, and cats, have long been beloved as tangible manifestations of Japanese spirituality. In a 110-year-old wooden gassho-style factory in Kyoto, artisans continue to meticulously dye each furoshiki by hand using traditional techniques.
